Statement from ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Chair Larry E. Penley regarding AG petition to ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Supreme Court

"ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â courts have repeatedly upheld and recognized the legal purview of the ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Board of Regents and its public universities to develop university property, which provides a smart and entrepreneurial mechanism to help fund university operations and provide needed capital assets.

"The board is greatly disappointed in the Attorney General’s decision to prolong senseless litigation in the Omni case by to review his latest defeat in the ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Court of Appeals. This litigation has been rebuked at every turn by ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â courts. It is regrettable that ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â taxpayers lose most of all as the Attorney General refuses to recognize and uphold established law and instead insists on a further waste of taxpayer dollars."
