Statement from ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Board of Regents Chair Lyndel Manson on appointment of Robert Herbold and Jessica Pacheco to the board

"Governor Ducey has made two exceptional appointments to the ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Board of Regents with the selection of Robert Herbold and Jessica Pacheco to serve on the board.

“Mr. Herbold brings to the board a dedication to higher education and a rich history in business, finance and strategic operations. His keen acumen in corporate marketing, market research, information technology and brand management will bring valuable expertise to the board.

“For nearly 25 years, Ms. Pacheco has been shaping public affairs, strategic communications, public policy, economic development and more in ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â. Her seasoned expertise will be a tremendous asset for the board.

“On behalf of the board, I warmly welcome Mr. Herbold and Ms. Pacheco and look forward to their service in enhancing public higher education in ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â. Our board will undoubtedly benefit through their dedication and service to ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â’s students and their success. We offer our gratitude to them both as well as our appreciation to  and Regent Kathryn Hackett King who concluded their terms early to pursue other opportunities. We thank Governor Ducey for these outstanding appointments.â€

Mr. Herbold is the managing director of The Herbold Group, LLC, an operations and strategy consulting business. He also is president of The Herbold Foundation, which provides scholarships to master's and doctoral students in engineering and computer science at several universities. Previously, he was the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Microsoft Corporation and senior vice president of Procter & Gamble. He has endowed a chair at Case Western Reserve University and the Robert J. Herbold Professor of Strategy at the University of Washington. He earned his doctoral degree in engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

Ms. Pacheco brings 22 years of executive corporate experience working in the energy industry as well as skills in strategic communications, public policy, strategic thinking, economic development, corporate development, leadership and strategic partnerships. Ms. Pacheco serves the state through many organizations, including as president of the ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â-Mexico Commission Board of Directors and as a member of the ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors. Pacheco is a graduate of the University of ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â and the Stanford University Executive Education Program.
