Student Regent David Zaragoza was appointed to the ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â Board of Regents by Gov. Katie Hobbs on May 5, 2023. He serves as assistant treasurer of the board and is a member of the University Governance and Operations Committee.

Regent Zaragoza is seeking a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â State University and is enrolled in Barrett, the Honors College. A researcher at ASU’s Luminosity Lab, he worked on projects as diverse as systems engineering, embedded systems and web development.

As secretary of the Society of Hispanic Engineers of ASU, Regent Zaragoza fostered Hispanic leadership in the STEM field by leading workshops and meetings with companies such as Google, Honeywell, Goldman Sachs and more. He is an apprentice of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, assisting others with their spiritual needs.

Regent Zaragoza is focused on increasing educational opportunities for ethnically and economically underrepresented students in the state of ÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â.
